Well, it arrived some time ago apparently and I've just been living under a rock, but the newest and latest version is here and I put my skills to the test installing it. The creator has also recently released a noob-friendly install aid called the EZ Mount to simplify the repair, and we love the sound of that! I went on a bit of a shopping spree for this restoration, and pretty much bought all the missing accessories I needed to dress this Virtual Boy up, and a handsome boy it turned out to be indeed. Hope you enjoy the restoration. ๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿป Big thank you to @fenriswolfretro6729 for sending this broken Virtual Boy my way. ๐Ÿ”ง @stoneagegamer has you covered with some of the best stocked Virtual Boy parts and accessories Virtual Ribbon Kit + Installation Service: http://bit.ly/43cxAre Virtual Ribbon Kit (Do-It-Yourself): http://bit.ly/40QD09V All the other Virtual Boy accessories in the video: http://bit.ly/3KMmWRb Some specialty products specific to this project ๐Ÿช› Gamebit screwdriver with long enough shaft for the Virtual Boy: https://amzn.to/3ZOe95j My philosophy on buying tools is to start small and to "outgrow" your gear over time. It was so powerful it was even classified as a weapon by the U.S. government." Turns out this claim was both a little bit of clever (and exaggerated) marketing by Apple back in 2000, as well as being technically accurate at the time. The Power Mac G4 was the first personal computer to exceed 10,000 MTOPS (millions of theoretical operations per second) and fell into a category of high performance computers that were banned from export to certain countries due to their potential for use in military applications. The laws were soon changed to increase this threshold as technology was accelerating at an incredibly rapid rate. This lovely example of a Power Mac G4 is untested and missing a couple of parts. Nothing too difficult to source, but Apple never makes it easy with proprietary parts, pinouts and wiring. I recently bought a couple of PAL Master System 2's from the UK during a trip there, and now I'm on a mission to build the "ultimate" American Sega Master System 2. Before that happens though, I need to figure out if the one I have even works which is a bit easier said than done. Turns out $35 for a faulty Crystal Xbox is a fantastic deal

๐Ÿ‘• Support the channel by buying one of my T-shirts, designed by me and made by American Apparel right here in the USA (ships worldwide) http://www.BorderlineOCD.com Today we have another system from the suitcase full of retro consoles that I brought back with me from the UK. This one is a faulty Crystal Xbox, which are quite common in the UK but rare in the USA as they had no official release here (although Canada saw a short limited edition run). The goal with this system is to do a full PAL to NTSC conversion, but that assumes we can get it working firstโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ›’ Specialty products specific to this project Circuit Board Holder: https://amzn.to/3k35Pzm Desoldering Vacuum Pump: https://amzn.to/3Qe9ipl An inexpensive Hot Air Rework Station to get you started: https://amzn.to/3w023bF 110V to 220V transformer: https://amzn.to/3R9Vqg7 My philosophy on buying tools is to start small and to "outgrow" your gear over time. This was a lot of 8 โ€œfor parts or not workingโ€ systems (5 consoles and 3 handhelds) and today I take a look at the first system from this batch, a neglected N64. ๐Ÿ›’ Specialty products specific to this project Fiberglass Pen: https://amzn.to/3eQzdWZ Contact Cleaner: https://amzn.to/3dI93ly Rust Dissolver Gel: https://amzn.to/3RUMzQS My philosophy on buying tools is to start small and to "outgrow" your gear over time. Full refurb on a BROKEN Atari Lynx. Can we fix it?

๐Ÿ‘• Support the channel by buying one of my T-shirts, designed by me and made by American Apparel right here in the USA (ships worldwide) http://www.BorderlineOCD.com In todayโ€™s video I take a look at the first console from a batch of systems that I purchased during a recent trip to the UK. We have an Atari Lynx II (i.e. second generation) that was sold as faulty. The unit does not power on, and an inspection reveals signs of previous repairs. The console gets a slew of new parts in an effort to bring it back to life. ๐Ÿ›’ Specialty products specific to this project Circuit Board Holder: https://amzn.to/3k35Pzm Desoldering Vacuum Pump: https://amzn.to/3Qe9ipl Contact Cleaner: https://amzn.to/3dI93ly My philosophy on buying tools is to start small and to "outgrow" your gear over time.
